This selection reads series not as an archive of “beautiful spaces,” but as spatial systems built over time. Home, office, palace, bunker and street distribute behaviour, knowledge and power.
Method
This is not a universal ranking of the best 25. The five blocks move from architecture in the foreground to home and interior, office and power, period production design, and dystopia or infrastructure. Each entry has a viewing question so the eye stays with plan, route and access rather than collecting décor.
Series ratings remain separate signals: IMDb user score and vote count; Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer and critic count; and, where available, Metacritic score and critic count. IMDb values use the official IMDb non-commercial dataset snapshot from 16 August 2026; Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic remain a separate 15 August 2026 source snapshot. No cross-source average is calculated.

A viewing note
Pause an episode and mark its doors, service routes, waiting areas and views. This makes production design easier to read closely. A space matters not only for what it contributes to a story, but also for whom it excludes.
