Architecture that reads space and makes relationships visible.

I am Melike İnal. I design enduring spaces through everyday life, public encounters, material choices and processes of making.

01 / Selected work

Two studies where ideas become drawings and drawings become space.

These projects refuse to reduce public life to a single function. They are shaped through relationships between movement, making, rest and encounter.

02 / Approach

Relationship before form.

I do not begin a project with a finished image. I begin with a story and a question about its users. Plan, section, material and detail become instruments that carry that relationship.

  1. 01

    Story

Every project begins with a place, its history and everyday life. Its first question is what kind of life it should make possible.

  2. 02

    User

I read movement, waiting, encounter and retreat together. Users are where spatial decisions begin.

  3. 03

    Form

Form emerges when relationships become clear through drawing. Plan and section build sequences of spatial decisions.

  4. 04

    Material

I treat material not as finish, but as a system shaping light, sound, touch and how a building is made.

03 / Notes and research

Reading space through cities, climate, disaster and culture.

Writing is not background material to design. It belongs to the same field of inquiry, reading a map, façade, earthquake or film as a spatial question.

04 / Culture shelf

From outside architecture, back towards space.

Cinema constructs thresholds, music structures time and literature opens invisible cities. These selections form a personal working shelf that feeds an architectural gaze beyond disciplinary boundaries.

05 / About

An emerging practice shaped through attention.

I see architecture not as filling space, but as carefully shaping relationships. Drawing, research, technical documentation and model making are ways of testing one idea across different scales.
